29th October, 2020

As I was putting together this playlist, I had this scene in mind: It's late October, dusk, and you're riding your bike along a country road that edges off to a cornfield. Music is coming from a walkman. The sky is violet, but turning black. Halloween is just around the corner, and you can smell the jack-o-lanterns burning at night. You're supposed to be home for dinner but you're seventeen and the moon is full. The night is calling you, and so you ditch your bike and enter the cornfield. We start with Venus in Furs by the Velvet Underground, as you begin to run with shoelaces untied. These songs evoke feelings of danger, mischief, magic. This playlist is for your trip through the cornfield, wherever that might be for you.
